Warranty Information

Steven Bailey Plumbing & Rooter stands behind the workmanship we perform and provides warranty coverage on qualifying installations and services. Warranty coverage varies depending on the type of work performed, the equipment or materials installed, whether the property is residential or commercial, and whether required maintenance conditions have been satisfied. The information below provides a general explanation of our warranty program. The written proposal, service agreement, invoice, and Terms & Conditions applicable to your specific project control the exact warranty provided.

Residential Installation Warranty

Qualifying new residential installations of Moen Flo valves, toilets, 3/4 HP and 1 HP garbage disposals, water heaters, Hans-Grohe shower valves, and kitchen faucets include a standard twenty-four (24) month parts and labor warranty unless a different warranty period is specifically stated in writing. Other qualifying residential installations generally include a twelve (12) month warranty unless otherwise stated in the written proposal or service agreement.

Warranty coverage applies to eligible defects in covered work or qualifying company-supplied components during the applicable warranty period. Verified workmanship errors directly attributable to Steven Bailey Plumbing & Rooter will be addressed according to the original workmanship warranty applicable to the project.

Water Heater Warranty Requirements

Qualifying residential water heater installations may include up to twenty-four (24) months of parts and labor warranty coverage, subject to the maintenance requirements contained in the applicable service agreement. Annual water heater maintenance performed by Steven Bailey Plumbing & Rooter may be required to maintain extended warranty eligibility. Customers can learn more about recommended servicing through our water heater maintenance services.

Certain qualifying customers who maintain an active Bailey Priority Plan membership and complete required annual water heater maintenance may be eligible for extended water heater warranty coverage of up to three (3) years when specifically provided under the applicable membership or service agreement. Extended coverage is dependent upon continuous compliance with the maintenance and membership requirements stated in the applicable agreement.

Electric and Heat Pump Water Heater Warranty Requirements

Electric and heat pump water heaters must have a code-compliant, accessible, and functional electrical disconnect capable of safely isolating the equipment from electrical power. This disconnect must remain installed and operational for warranty service to be performed. If the required disconnect is missing, inaccessible, nonfunctional, bypassed, removed, or altered, labor and workmanship warranty coverage may be void because the equipment cannot be safely isolated for diagnosis or repair.

The disconnect requirement applies throughout the applicable warranty period. Customers who decline a required electrical disconnect or subsequently alter or remove the disconnect may become ineligible for warranty service on the affected electric or heat pump water heater installation.

Residential Drain Cleaning Warranty

Residential drain stoppage services include a limited fourteen (14) day warranty unless otherwise stated in writing. This limited warranty is intended for qualifying recurrence of the original stoppage and does not provide coverage where the underlying cause involves excessive grease or sludge, flushable wipes, hygiene products, tree or shrub roots, structural defects, deteriorated piping, or other pre-existing conditions within the drainage system.

Drain cleaning cannot correct structural defects within existing piping. When recurring stoppages indicate a condition such as damaged pipe, root intrusion, offsets, deterioration, or another physical defect, additional diagnostic or repair work may be required and is not covered by the original drain-cleaning warranty.

Commercial Warranty Coverage

Qualifying commercial installations of major plumbing equipment and fixtures, including water heaters, faucets, toilets, and shower valves, generally include a one (1) year commercial parts and labor warranty unless a different term is stated in writing. Commercial installations are subject to the same general warranty exclusions regarding misuse, maintenance, system conditions, third-party alterations, and other factors outside the control of Steven Bailey Plumbing & Rooter.

Commercial drain stoppage services do not come with a warranty or guarantee. Coverage does not apply when the stoppage results from excessive grease, root intrusion, hygiene products, structural defects, or pre-existing conditions within the drainage system.

Customer-Supplied Fixtures, Parts and Equipment

Steven Bailey Plumbing & Rooter does not provide a warranty or guarantee on customer-supplied parts, materials, fixtures, appliances, or equipment. Any manufacturer or seller warranty applicable to a customer-supplied product must be pursued directly with the manufacturer or seller. We are not responsible for defects, internal failures, incompatibility, manufacturing deficiencies, missing components, or improper performance of materials that were not supplied by Steven Bailey Plumbing & Rooter.

If additional labor is required because a customer-supplied product is defective, incompatible, incorrectly sized, incomplete, improperly sourced, or otherwise unsuitable for the installation, that additional labor is not warranty work and will be billed accordingly. Our workmanship warranty remains limited to the plumbing work we actually performed.

Manufacturer Warranties and Our Workmanship Warranty

Manufacturer warranties and Steven Bailey Plumbing & Rooter workmanship warranties are separate forms of coverage. A manufacturer may provide its own warranty for a water heater, faucet, valve, appliance, fixture, or replacement component. Those manufacturer warranties are controlled by the manufacturer’s terms and do not automatically include labor performed by Steven Bailey Plumbing & Rooter.

Our workmanship warranty applies to qualifying workmanship performed by Steven Bailey Plumbing & Rooter during the applicable warranty period. A manufacturer product failure does not by itself establish a workmanship defect, and a workmanship warranty does not expand or replace the manufacturer’s product warranty.

What Is Not Covered

Warranty coverage does not apply to failures or damage resulting from misuse, neglect, improper operation, failure to perform required maintenance, excessive water pressure, electrical irregularities, power surges, clogged drainage systems, root intrusion, acts of nature, pre-existing plumbing conditions, incompatible plumbing systems, or customer-supplied components. Coverage also does not extend to conditions outside the scope of the original work performed by Steven Bailey Plumbing & Rooter.

Warranty coverage may also be void when covered work, equipment, or the affected plumbing system is inspected, adjusted, modified, repaired, disconnected, altered, or replaced by the customer or another contractor before Steven Bailey Plumbing & Rooter has been given a reasonable opportunity to inspect the claimed warranty condition.

Our Right to Inspect and Cure Warranty Issues

If you believe a problem may be covered by our warranty, contact Steven Bailey Plumbing & Rooter before hiring another contractor or attempting a repair yourself. We must be provided the first reasonable opportunity to inspect, diagnose, and, where appropriate, correct a claimed defect involving our work. This is our Right to Cure.

A customer or third party should not alter, adjust, repair, replace, or otherwise interfere with a claimed warranty item before our inspection. Third-party work can prevent us from determining the original cause of the failure and may void warranty eligibility for the affected system or component. Customers are also responsible for giving us reasonable access to the property, equipment, shutoff valves, electrical disconnects, and other areas necessary to perform the warranty evaluation.

Warranty Evaluation and Diagnostic Charges

Submitting a warranty request does not automatically establish that the condition is covered. Steven Bailey Plumbing & Rooter may need to inspect, test, troubleshoot, operate, disconnect, reconnect, or partially disassemble equipment in order to determine the cause of the reported problem and whether the warranty applies.

Warranty eligibility is determined after evaluation of the equipment, installation, site conditions, maintenance history, and applicable warranty terms. Diagnostic labor, travel, research, and other service costs may be billable when a condition is determined to be outside warranty coverage, when the warranty has expired or previously been exhausted, or when coverage has been voided by conditions outside the control of Steven Bailey Plumbing & Rooter.

Warranty Repair or Replacement

When an eligible product, component, or service is repaired or replaced under warranty, that warranty obligation is considered fulfilled for the covered issue. Warranty service does not automatically restart, renew, or extend the original warranty period. Any additional failure occurring after warranty fulfillment will be evaluated according to the applicable service agreement and remaining warranty rights, if any.

Pre-Existing Plumbing and Property Conditions

Our warranty applies to qualifying work performed by Steven Bailey Plumbing & Rooter and does not make us responsible for unrelated or pre-existing deficiencies within the property. Existing corrosion, deteriorated piping, concealed defects, improper previous installations, structural conditions, excessive pressure, electrical problems, and other conditions outside the scope of our work remain the responsibility of the property owner unless specifically included in the written scope of work.

Plumbing systems often contain interconnected components installed at different times. Failure of an existing component adjacent to new work does not automatically establish a defect in the new installation. When a warranty request is evaluated, we determine whether the reported condition was caused by our workmanship, a covered component, the existing plumbing system, maintenance conditions, or another external factor.

How to Request Warranty Service

If you believe you are experiencing an issue involving work performed by Steven Bailey Plumbing & Rooter, contact us before making repairs or allowing another contractor to alter the affected system. We will review the service history and arrange an evaluation when appropriate. Warranty coverage will then be determined according to the original proposal, invoice, service agreement, maintenance history, and warranty terms applicable to the project.

This page is intended as a general summary of our warranty program and does not modify, expand, replace, or supersede the written warranty and Terms & Conditions applicable to an individual project. Where a written proposal, service agreement, membership agreement, manufacturer warranty, or other executed document specifies different terms, the applicable written agreement controls.
